He looked away. It hurt too much to look at Miko's back. "She's got all reason to be mad," he said.

Miko looked at Levi, "I'm not mad." She heard what Akio said and her heat felt so sad. Just the thought of Akio made her wish that she never confessed to him in the first place.

Maybe he should talk to her? He did buy her jewelry after all. But he hadn't thought through what he'd do after buying it. And how he would do it. Perhaps she didn't want to talk to him. But he could always try.
"Miko?" he asked.

Miko turned her head in Akio's direction, but she didn't make any eye contact with him. She wanted to run out of this room. "Yeah?" She waited for him to reply.

Akio held his breath. She seemed so uncomfortable talking to him now. "Can I talk with you? In private maybe?" he said, awkwardly.

Miko shook her head. "We're in class right now."

By her rejection he could feel the anger rushing through his body. In one sudden movement he stood up from his chair and walked out of the classroom with heavy steps without looking at anyone. When he reached out of the room he grabbed the box in his pocket and threw it down the hallway. It crashed against a wall far back.

Miko winced at the loud crash. She looked at her desk sadly and tried to distract herself. She knew that their relationship would never be the same. Just forget and move on she thought.
